Smiling Orphans

Our Mission Distinctives

Freedom From Chains (FFC) is an organization whose purpose is to glorify God through establishing a church where none exist and making it glorious and unique where it does exist. To achieve this purpose we give ourselves to aggressive evangelism, intensive discipling and intentional leadership development. We want to value what God values. We want to conform our heart and mind to be a reflection of God’s heart and mind. Consequently, we humbly seek to be guided by the following core values in our ministry and to constantly seek the wisdom of God to improve our understanding and implementation of these principles. To fulfill our basic purpose, we are committed to the following fundamental values.

We Focus on Reaching the Unreached People of the 1040 Window

At Freedom From Chains, our focus is to reach people in the 10/40 Window who have never had the opportunity to know the one true God, to hear the name of Jesus nor to hear the awesome news that is found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The number of people who fit the above description is roughly 2.5 billion people. In India alone there are about half a million villages that have yet to be presented with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We Training & Support Native Missionaries

We at Freedom From Chains believe that the native missionary is the key that the church must use if we are to fulfill as quickly as possible the last great command of Jesus Christ, the command to make disciples of all nations and to teach them to obey everything Jesus taught us (Matthew 28:18-20). However, this key has historically be unused by the Church for a myriad of reasons.

Multiplication & Movements

Our aim is not merely projects, but movements. This is facilitated by training people to train others using concepts that are transferable. We emphasize the use of local resources and appropriate technologies so that solutions can be passed along neighbor to neighbor. We build cooperation and vision at a community level. We work collaboratively with faith- and community-based organizations, local and international relief and development agencies, churches and missions, as well as governments to facilitate the transformation of communities and nations.

Holistic Ministries Are Secondary to the Gospel Being Preached

One key strategy to growing the church in the least Christian regions of the world is thru holistic witness, which means to reach out to the "whole" person, alleviating human suffering and opening the door to the gospel. It acknowledges that spiritual need and physical need are symptoms of the same problem, and remedied by the same solution, the transforming power of the gospel and its Kingdom values. Holistic witness takes place whenever Christians care for the needs of others as an expression of God's love. Providing medical care, clean water, disaster relief, agricultural development, and other compassionate assistance demonstrates the love of God and leads to the start of new churches.

We Seek Daily Prayer Times

We believe that God wants to communicate daily with His creation and to do it in a personal manner. Therefore, we will continually seek His will through daily prayer and weekly fasting; listening diligently for His response, and being ready to joyfully obey His commands to the best of our ability.

Make Decisions Based on God’s Leading & Principles, Not on Human Wisdom

Freedom From Chains is a ministry, not a business. We exist to fulfill God’s purposes and that means doing things according to His leading, His principles and His timetable. There will be times when we sense Him leading us to do things that might not make sense from a human perspective. We hope that as the history of God’s Kingdom on earth is written, it will be said that FCC’s history was filled with such “foolish” endeavors. Just as the brethren that preceded us, we will seek God’s guidance and obey what will be revealed.

We Will Trust God to Provide for All of Our Needs

God has called this ministry into existence and e will provide for it. We will continue to look to Him to supply our every need as we move into the future by miraculous intervention and by using people everywhere to either give what resources they have to give or by serving with their own hands and feet.

We Will Seek to Glorify God through Our Work & the Work of Our Partners

The Kingdom of God has only one King and all of us in it work for Him and His purposes. When God expands our work, we want the emphasis to be on His power in doing so. If God chooses to prune us and bring us trials, we will seek to honor Him through our response. We are not trying to build our own empire or reputation. Our goal is for people to see and experience God’s power in ways that bring glory to Him

We Emphasize Discipleship Over Evangelism

We understand that you are not a Christian simply because you profess a faith in God or because you believe in Jesus. Even demons believe and yet they shudder in fear and reverence (James 2:19). You are a “Christian” when pick up your cross daily, following Jesus Christ (Luke 14:26), and by keeping His commandments and living life as Jesus would have lived it (1 John 2:4; 6). Christianity is not a confession, it is not something you do on Sunday, it is not an accessories you. Christianity is a lifestyle, it is your every minute and it is what you wear in the inside and when no one is watching you. Therefore, we will not focus on getting people to say a simple ritualistic prayer hoping for salvation but, to enter into a lifestyle – that of being a disciple of Christ serving as His hands and feet while we live in this world awaiting our new home that is soon coming.

We Will Always Go to the Darkest, Poorest, & Most Hopeless Places First

At Freedom From Chains we strive to emulate the ministry Jesus. Our focus is not the rich or the intellectual but, those that are broken and crushed. We seek out those people that society has shuns for whatever reason. As His ambassadors we seek first the lost sheep, the poor, the oppressed, the forgotten, the sick, the homeless, the helpless, and the hopeless before all else. In a given nation or city we serve, we will first go to the darkest and most hopeless places first. It is there that Jesus spent most of His time. He affirm their worth, call them back to God through repentance and faith in Christ Jesus and in then , to be set free from the brokenness and despair that enslaves them.

We Will Seek to Break Every Chain that Enslaves People to Poverty

We do this because it is the command of Christ and the constant word of the prophets. In Matthew 25 Jesus welcomes into the kingdom of God those who fed the hungry and sheltered the homeless and condemns to punishment those who failed to. John says that the love of God does not abide in those who do not help the needy (1 John 3:16-18). James says that caring for the widow and orphan is the essence of true religion (James 1:27). Isaiah prophesies that the true fast desired by God is feeding the hungry and caring for the homeless (Isaiah 58:6-7). As the Apostle John wrote, "Anyone who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen" (1 John 4:20). We recognize that this obligation to help the poor applies not only to fellow Christians, to whom we have a special responsibility, but to all who are poor - even our enemies (Luke 6:35).

Recognize the Value in Developmental & Sustainable Ministries

Wherever possible, our work is not to sustain the needy, but rather to help set people free from the poverty and disease that plagues them. Therefore, we will concentrate our efforts on long-term solutions, on development rather than relief, and disease prevention rather than the cure. By providing educational opportunities and by focusing on community development, we strive to make impoverished individuals and villages self-supporting.

We Seek Proven Methods Whenever Possible

Rather than create new institutions to distribute aid, we will first seek to help existing ministries and churches that already have an infrastructure in place to serve the needs of the people. In addition to being the most cost-effective way of helping the poor, therefore we can maximize each dollar entrusted to Freedom From Chains by compassionate people everywhere.
